Cannabis flower sizes on Canadian menus commonly use grams and four familiar package amounts: 3.5g, 7g, 14g and 28g. Understanding the conversions makes it easier to compare price, quantity and the amount you intend to order.

The common names are approximations based on an ounce. The grams shown in the menu are the clearer measurement to use when comparing two listings.
Compare the price per gram
Divide the listed price by the number of grams to estimate the unit price. A larger package can have a lower per-gram cost, but the lowest unit price is only useful when the quantity fits what you intended to purchase. Compare the final price after any active offer rather than assuming a size always has the same value.
Check the selected option
A product page can show several weights. Selecting a different weight changes the price and possibly the available stock. Before adding it to the cart, confirm that both the highlighted size and displayed price changed together. The cart should repeat the selected option on the line item.
Weight is separate from grade and potency

A simple unit-price example
If a 3.5g option costs $35, divide 35 by 3.5 for a $10 unit price per gram. If a 7g option costs $63, divide 63 by 7 for $9 per gram. The second option has a lower unit price, but it also requires a larger total purchase. Use the current cart total and never assume the example prices apply to a live listing.
Choose quantity before chasing value
A lower unit price can make a larger size look attractive even when the quantity was not part of the original plan. Decide the intended amount first, then compare products that offer that size. This keeps unit pricing useful without letting it determine the order by itself.
Stock can also differ by size. A product may remain visible while one weight is sold out. Recheck the highlighted row immediately before adding it to the cart.
Common weight mistakes
- Reading an ounce as exactly 30g instead of using the menu’s stated 28g option.
- Comparing total prices without matching the package weights.
- Assuming a larger option is in stock because the product page is available.
- Treating weight as evidence of grade, potency or freshness.
- Forgetting to confirm the selected size after changing quantity on mobile.
A cart-level size check
