Learning how to store cannabis is mostly about controlling four things: access, heat, light and moisture. Keep the original labelled package unless a suitable storage container is needed.
How to store cannabis securely
Choose a storage location that is inaccessible to children, teenagers, pets and anyone who should not handle the product. A closed cupboard is not automatically secure; use a lock when the household requires one.
Avoid prolonged heat and direct light
Heat and sunlight can change texture, aroma and consistency. A cool, dark and stable indoor location is generally more useful than a windowsill, vehicle or space beside an appliance. Avoid repeatedly moving a product between very different temperatures.
Flower storage
Keep flower in a clean, sealed container suited to the quantity. Too much open air can speed drying, while excessive moisture can create other quality problems. Do not add improvised moisture sources such as fruit peel, which can introduce contaminants and unpredictable humidity.
Edibles and tinctures
Keep the original label and serving information with the product. Store food-style items according to the package directions and prevent them from being confused with ordinary snacks. Keep tincture bottles upright and close the cap securely after use.
Concentrates
Consistency can respond to temperature. Keep the product in its intended container, avoid touching it with unclean tools and follow any format-specific storage details on the package. A change in texture does not by itself explain the cause, so avoid making assumptions from appearance alone.
Vaporizers and cartridges
Store cartridges and disposable devices upright when practical, away from direct heat. Protect the mouthpiece from debris. Do not use damaged hardware or force a cartridge onto an incompatible battery.
Keep the label and order context
The label helps distinguish products and preserves the listed format, potency and package information. If you need to contact support about a delivered item, keep the order number and exact product name available.
Avoid improvised storage shortcuts
Do not use a container that previously held food, chemicals or strongly scented material unless it has been properly cleaned and is suitable for storage. Avoid loose plastic bags as a long-term default when a more protective container is available. Do not combine different products in one unlabelled container.
Check stored items periodically
Storage is not permanent preservation. Check that a container still closes correctly, labels remain readable and hardware has not been damaged. If an item has an unexpected appearance, odour or package condition, do not guess at the cause from a general article. Keep delivery packaging separate
Once the order has been checked, separate the outer shipping materials from the labelled product packages. Remove or obscure address labels before recycling or discarding the parcel. Retain the order email and tracking record digitally if they may be needed for a support question.
